Lindsey received her B.S. in Environmental Science at Santa Clara University in 2004. As part of her coursework, she studied tropical ecology in Costa Rica, where she was bitten by the travel bug. Since that time, she has been fortunate to volunteer in a hospital in Delhi, assist a botanist in the Galapagos, and build houses in Tijuana. Combined with rich experiences as a volunteer and professional in Boise’s community gardens, schools, and non-profit organizations, these travel opportunities have inspired Lindsey to teach. She returned to school at Boise State University, where she received a Noyce Fellowship from the National Science Foundation and a Graduate Certificate in Secondary Education. As a teacher, Lindsey seeks to help students find their own individual path to working collaboratively, compassionately, and knowledgeably to affect positive change globally. Lindsey’s personal and professional lives were also shaped by her upbringing in Boise. Her mother, a science teacher/ plant fanatic, and father, a hunter/wildlife biologist, made outdoor recreation and appreciation a central part of family life. Lindsey continues to run trails, ride her road bike, backpack, and relax in Idaho’s great places.
