Student Handbook, Pictures and Other Things of Which to be Aware

October, Fri 24, 2014 - Sage International

NEWS AND NOTES

STUDENT HANDBOOK

Because this year involved so many adjustments, we have taken the time to accurately address these changes in the handbook..  Therefore, while a bit delayed, the updated 2014-2015 Handbook has now been posted online in the Parents Downloadable Forms area.

STUDENT PICTURES & RE-TAKES

If you ordered individual students pictures, they will be sent home next week. Re-takes are scheduled the morning of Wednesday, November 12th at both school campuses.

PARKCENTER CAMPUS – STUDENT BUILDING ENTRY

As the weather is beginning to change, we would like to reiterate the Regular Schedule for student entry into the buildings as well as outline the Inclement Weather Schedule.  For our purposes “inclement” is akin to either extremely cold (below 25) or extremely wet conditions (rain showers, but not sprinkles).  Please remind your students to dress appropriately!

Regular Schedule

  • 7:40 - Ms. Sherry on duty with the K-1st students and Mr. Cavanagh on duty with the 2nd through 5th students
  • 7:50 - Elementary students allowed to enter both buildings and go to classrooms
  • 7:50 - Mr. Dent on duty with the 6th/7th graders on the playfield
  • 8:10 – 6th/7th students allowed to enter the building

Inclement Weather Schedule

  • 7:45 – K-1st students enter building and stay in back common area until called to classrooms
  • 7:45 – 2nd – 5th students enter building and go directly to classrooms
  • 7:45 – 6th/7th students enter building and go to Lunch Room until class time

LOST & FOUND

As it is the last week of the month, unclaimed Lost & Found items will be donated at the end of the week.  If you are missing something (or even if you think you aren’t) please check the piles at all school locations to reclaim what is rightfully yours.

The park also features a segment of paved Greenbelt pathway and a spur to the Baybrook Court foot bridge across the river just under a half mile from the Sage Parkcenter Campus.  Students and parents are invited to join together this Saturday morning to help with necessary maintenance prior to the onset of Winter.  All ages are welcome.  Please come dressed to work and bring garden gloves if you have them.  All other tools will be supplied.  Parking is available north of the park off Marden Lane.  If you have questions, please contact Kristen Gnojewski.

SUNDAY! - SAGE COMMUNITY NETWORK SCARECROW STROLL – Sunday, October 26th – 3:30 - 6pm @ Idaho Botanical Garden

The annual Sage Scarecrow Stroll, sponsored by the Sage Community Network, will be held this weekend! Put on your costumes and join the fun!  You can walk through the gardens and check out the scarecrows while mingling with other Sage families to boot.  Please log on to VolunteerSpot and sign-up to bring your favorite spooky treat to this festive finger-food potluck.

SAGE TOWN HALL MEETING – Monday, October 27th – 6:30pm @ New Parkcenter

The Board subcommittee will be conducting its second Town Hall Meetings in order to solicit feedback from Sage families regarding changes to the end of day schedule.  Comments and suggestions from this evening will be combined with additional input from the staff and administration.  The Committee will share its findings with the administration and the Board for their consideration at the November Board meeting.  If you are unable to attend but would like to provide input, please contact Stephanie Wicks-Pooser.

PRIMARY (K – 5th) PARENT NIGHT – Thursday, October 30th – 6:30pm @ New Parkcenter

Parents, join us on Thursday, October 30 from 6:30-7:30pm at the new Parkcenter building to learn more about the Primary Years Programme at Sage International.  The focus of the evening is to become more knowledgeable about the Learner Profile Attributes, the Programme of Inquiry with a focus on a unit of inquiry, and 5th grade exhibition.  If you need something for your younger set to do, Linda Bu and her BSU students have an evening of art planned for children at the little Parkcenter building in her studio.
